Just wondering if you would share some of the names in your Scottish ancestry?
I have relations that went to NZ – names like Bonar- buried at Helensville and settled in Kaukapakapa in the 1850s. I also have Fotheringham relations who fought in the Auckland Rifles and died at Gallipoli. ‘Griffin’ was ringing a bell, but perhaps I am mistaken…

My maternal grandfather was Robertson from Greenock in Glasgow – I can look up notes for other names 🙂 Griffin has quite a story behind it – comes through on my father’s maternal side.

Other names are Woods, Philps and Borrell. Three Fotheringham girls married men called these.

I’ll try to remember to look up some other names for you in a day or two (my mother did lots of research) – but right now – cleaning up after flooded basement – mice chewed thru pipes !!!
